What it is
Cloudflare's security-audit-skill runs a structured audit in six phases: reconnaissance, coverage-led hunting tracked in a ledger, validation where a fresh agent tries to disprove each candidate, structured output in a schema-checked findings.json, independent verification of the final records, and a report. Results are sorted into confirmed findings and leads that need validation.
It needs an operating-system sandbox with no external network to run the target's builds and tests; without one it marks leads as needing validation instead of testing them. Cloudflare says a single run found roughly half the vulnerabilities that repeated runs found in total. The repo has 14 commits and no releases; the last push was 14 September 2026.
Our review
The worst part of an AI security review is the false alarm you spend an hour chasing. Cloudflare's skill is built around that problem: every candidate bug goes to a fresh agent whose only job is to prove it is not real.
Around that sits a careful process. One agent maps the system and its trust boundaries, separate hunters search with a ledger of what has been covered, and the results land in a validated findings.json alongside a readable report. Cloudflare is also unusually candid: in its own runs, one pass found only about half of what repeated passes found.
The catch: it is expensive in tokens, and it needs a locked-down sandbox with no internet to test anything properly. Without one, it can only list leads. And 43,000 stars against 14 commits says this is a published method more than an evolving project.
Our take: run it on code that matters, more than once, inside a proper sandbox. It is a good audit, not a gate, and its own numbers tell you a single clean run proves little.
