Juicebox finds candidates the way you would describe them to a colleague, which is why startups without a recruiter love it, but its ATS sync is locked behind a sales call.

What is Juicebox?

Juicebox (Y Combinator Summer 2022) is a recruiting tool built around PeopleGPT, a search engine for candidates. Instead of stringing together Boolean keywords, you describe the person you want, and it searches profiles gathered from dozens of public sources, finds contact details, and sends email sequences. Optional agents keep sourcing and shortlisting in the background.

Seats cost $99 a month on Starter and $179 on Growth when billed yearly, with a limited free tier. Juicebox raised a $30M Series A led by Sequoia in September 2025, after reaching more than 2,500 customers and $10M in annual recurring revenue largely without a sales team; its pricing page now claims more than 3,000 customers.

Is Juicebox worth it?

Finding a backend engineer who has scaled a payments system usually means an evening of Boolean strings and LinkedIn tabs, most of which turn up the wrong people.

Juicebox lets you type the description instead. PeopleGPT reads it, searches what the company says are 800 million profiles from dozens of sources, ranks them, and finds emails and phone numbers. From the same screen you can send a sequence of outreach emails, and an agent can keep sourcing every week without you asking.

Its traction is unusual for a recruiting tool. TechCrunch reported that Juicebox reached more than 2,500 customers and $10M in annual revenue largely without a sales team, and Sequoia partner David Cahn said the firm's own recruiter had started using it before the round. Customers named in the coverage include Cognition, Ramp and Perplexity.

The catch: the useful plumbing is on the plan with no price. Syncing with your applicant tracking system, single sign-on and the SOC 2 report all sit on Business, which is annual-only and quoted. Credits go fast: an email costs 1 and a phone number 3, so Starter's 500 credits cover about 500 emails a month. And the profiles come from public web data rather than candidates who signed up, so EU teams should read the data processing terms before importing anyone.

Our take: a founder hiring their first ten people can do most of a recruiter's sourcing from one $99 seat, while an in-house team living in Greenhouse or Lever should price the Business plan before falling for the search box.

Where it earns its place

  • A seed-stage founder hiring five engineers this year

Find and email strong candidates without paying agency fees

One Starter seat at $99 a month yearly gives unlimited searches and 500 email credits; an agent at $199 a month keeps sourcing and shortlisting each week.

  • A three-person recruiting agency

Source niche technical candidates for several clients at once

Growth at $179 per seat yearly is $537 a month for three seats, with 1,500 credits each and phone numbers. Bulk exports go up to 250 profiles at a time.

  • A talent acquisition lead at a 1,000-person company

Push sourced candidates straight into Greenhouse with SSO

That needs Business: ATS sync, SAML SSO, the SOC 2 Type II report and invoice billing are all quoted and annual-only.
