What it is
Impeccable gives coding agents a design vocabulary and a check for common "AI slop" in frontend code: Inter everywhere, purple gradients, cards inside cards, grey text on colour. It installs as one /impeccable skill with 24 commands such as craft, audit, polish, typeset, layout and live.
It started from Anthropic's frontend-design skill. A CLI detector and browser extension run 62 deterministic rules with no LLM or API key, and a hook runs the detector whenever the agent edits UI files. It supports 17 agents, including Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI and GitHub Copilot.
Our review
Impeccable earns its place because it does not rely on the prompt alone. Its detector runs 62 deterministic rules, from purple gradients and nested cards to line length, cramped padding, small touch targets and skipped headings, with no LLM or API key, and it exits with code 2 when it finds something, so it drops straight into CI. The repo has about 85,200 GitHub stars, and CLI v4.7.0 shipped on 19 October 2026 with scans of desktop and webview apps over a Chrome debugging port.
The README is candid about what a pass means: a clean run is "evidence, not proof" of visual or accessibility quality. The --github flag turns findings into pull-request annotations, though GitHub shows at most 10 of each type per step. /impeccable init writes a PRODUCT.md so later commands know the audience and constraints, which is what separates it from a list of banned fonts.
Some defaults need attention. When a new design starts, the skill always asks impeccable.style to deal a hand of visual directions, and unless you opt out it also records which option won, though never project names, files or code. In Claude Code the hook runs even if you deny the agent's tool call, so the engine binary may download into ~/.impeccable/bin anyway. Live mode can run a package.json script with your permissions, so it belongs in trusted checkouts only.
Running it beside another anti-slop skill is a poor idea, as SSD Nodes notes, because both fire on every frontend request with conflicting rules. Compared with Anthropic's frontend-design skill, from which it grew, Impeccable trades a single prompt file for a binary, hooks and a network call: more machinery than a backend-heavy team needs for the odd admin page.
