A sensible way for a small team to share one TypeSafe key across claude.ai and ChatGPT, and an odd amount of gateway for one developer.

What it is

AnythingMCP, from helpcode.ai GmbH, is an open-source MCP gateway that turns APIs into MCP tools. Since 27 September 2026 its catalogue has included a Jev connector: you install it with your TypeSafe API key, and AnythingMCP serves Jev to Claude, ChatGPT and other clients from one URL. claude.ai and ChatGPT sign in with OAuth; Claude Code, Cursor and other clients send an MCP API key in an X-API-Key header.

The connector has six read-only tools: jev_yes_no, jev_classify and jev_rate ask one question each; jev_ask sends several questions about the same evidence in one call; jev_list_models lists the Jev versions your key can use; and jev_playbook explains how to phrase questions without calling the API. The TypeSafe key is checked with a free call, stored once with AES-256-GCM encryption, and never shown to team members; every call is written to the audit log.

You can self-host AnythingMCP with Docker Compose, Helm or Railway (AGPL-3.0; about 790 GitHub stars, with releases several times a day in late October 2026) or use AnythingMCP Cloud, hosted in Frankfurt. The standalone keysersoft/jev-mcp-server repository that some listings point to returns a 404; the connector lives in the main repository.

Our review

The Jev connector solves a team problem rather than a model problem. Every local Jev server needs each person to hold a TypeSafe key; AnythingMCP stores one key encrypted on the server, gives each person their own login and logs every call. For a company that wants Jev inside claude.ai or ChatGPT, where local servers cannot run, that is a real advantage.

The sharing only starts on the right plan, though. Cloud Starter at €19 a month is a single user with five connectors; up to three users needs Team at €49, and anything larger is an Enterprise quote. SSO and SCIM are self-hosted or Enterprise only. Self-hosting is the cheaper route for a bigger team, although the pricing page mentions work licences 'from €12/month' for self-hosted use while the README says commercial use inside your own company is included under the AGPL. Buyers should get that reconciled in writing.

The tools are the thinnest of the hosted Jev options. They map closely to Jev's three question types plus a batch call, with a playbook tool that teaches the model to phrase questions. There is no injection screen, claim verifier or reranker of the kind Jev MCP and Viorant ship, so the agent has to write those questions itself. In exchange you pay TypeSafe's own rate, $0.042 per million input tokens, with no markup.

The guide reports calls of 220 to 430 ms, typical calls of 300 to 520 tokens and a TypeSafe rate limit of 1,200 requests a minute per account; the latency figures come from its authors' own tests. The more interesting detail is that Jev sits beside the gateway's helpdesk, CRM and ERP connectors, so one agent can pull tickets and judge them through the same server.

Where it earns its place

  • A three-person support team on a helpdesk AnythingMCP already connects to

Triage incoming tickets by urgency and owning team from claude.ai

The agent pulls tickets with the helpdesk connector and asks Jev urgency, team and frustration in one jev_ask call per ticket. Team plan at €49 a month plus Jev at about $0.00002 per ticket.

  • An IT lead at a German Mittelstand firm

Give staff a Jev classifier in ChatGPT without handing out API keys

Self-host AnythingMCP on internal infrastructure, store the TypeSafe key once and issue logins; the audit log records each call. Running cost is the server plus TypeSafe tokens, subject to the licensing question above.

  • A sales-ops analyst cleaning a CRM export

Score 5,000 leads against an ideal-customer profile

jev_rate with four levels per lead at roughly 500 tokens each is about 2.5 million tokens, around $0.10 at TypeSafe's rate, well inside the 1,200 requests a minute limit.

Setup
Create a TypeSafe key at console.typesafe.ai, install the Jev connector in AnythingMCP Cloud or a self-hosted instance, then add the server URL to the client. The guide calls it a four-minute setup once the gateway exists; self-hosting the gateway is a Docker Compose job.
Integrations
Six read-only tools: jev_yes_no, jev_classify, jev_rate, jev_ask, jev_list_models and jev_playbook. Combines with the gateway's other connectors on the same MCP server.
Data and privacy
Evidence goes to TypeSafe as the question state; the gateway stores the key with AES-256-GCM and logs each call. Cloud runs in Frankfurt with a DPA on request; self-hosted keeps the gateway inside your network.
Cost at scale
Cloud: €19 a month for one user, €49 for three, Enterprise on request. Jev itself at $0.042 per million input tokens means 100,000 decisions of 500 tokens cost about $2.10.
Limits
Text only, 32k tokens of evidence and 64k per request, and TypeSafe's 1,200 requests per minute per account. English is the strongest language according to the guide.

What's good

  • One shared, encrypted TypeSafe key with per-user logins
  • Audit log of every call
  • Works in claude.ai and ChatGPT via OAuth
  • TypeSafe's own price, no markup on Jev tokens

What's not

  • Only raw question types; no ready-made guards or verifiers
  • Team sharing starts at €49 a month on Cloud, capped at three users
  • Self-hosted licensing reads differently on the pricing page and the README
  • Needs your own TypeSafe account and key

Best for

Teams that already use AnythingMCP, or want an audited, shared Jev endpoint for claude.ai and ChatGPT users.
