Beautiful.ai

Presentation software with 'Smart Slides' that format themselves, AI deck generation and locked brand themes for teams.

4.0/5

A brand-enforcement tool dressed as a slide editor, and teams that need the enforcement will forgive the rigidity.

What it is

Beautiful.ai is presentation software built around Smart Slides: more than 300 layouts that rearrange and resize themselves as you add content, so slides stay tidy without manual nudging. It can generate a draft deck from a prompt, a file or a link, write and translate text, generate images, and apply your brand theme automatically. AI generation is unlimited on every paid seat.

Team plans add a shared slide and template library, locked slides and brand themes, version control, live co-editing, charts linked to live data, and viewer analytics with engagement alerts. Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, audit logs, configurable brand guardrails and the plan's SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA and PCI listings. Decks import from and export to PowerPoint and can be created in more than 100 languages.

There is no free plan. Pro costs $14.50 a month billed yearly or $45 month to month. Team is listed at $40 a month billed yearly or $50 monthly, but the page contradicts itself: the plan card says the price includes three users, while the FAQ calls it per user. Pro and Team come with a 14-day trial that needs a credit card and bills you if you do not cancel. Students get a year free with a .edu email.

Our review

Beautiful.ai earns its place with teams that need every deck to look as if the company made it, not with individuals racing to a first draft. Smart Slides enforce spacing and alignment across more than 300 layouts, and on Team admins can lock slides and themes so a sales rep cannot drift off-brand. That constraint is the product.

It is also the main complaint. Designers and power users on review sites and Reddit say the layouts feel rigid when you want one Beautiful.ai does not offer. The AI drafting from a prompt, file or link is solid and unlimited on every seat, but Gamma is still faster at turning a brief into a whole first draft, and Canva or Pitch leave more room to design.

The pricing needs care. Pro at $14.50 a month assumes a yearly commitment; month to month it is $45, and monthly plans are non-refundable. The Team card says $40 a month "includes 3 users" while the FAQ says $40 per user, a threefold difference for a three-person team, so get the figure in writing. Team workspaces also cap at 5 themes, 10 templates, 50 library slides and 100 assets; only Enterprise lifts those limits.

Security reviews will land on Enterprise. SSO, SCIM, audit logs and the SOC 2 Type II, GDPR, CCPA and PCI listings all sit on that plan, so a marketing team of eight that needs single sign-on has to skip Team and negotiate a custom contract.

Where it earns its place

  • A 15-person agency producing client pitch decks

Keep every pitch on brand without a designer reviewing each one

Locked themes and a shared slide library stop drift. Team allows up to 20 members, so 15 seats fit, at $7,200 a year if the $40 is per user as the FAQ says.

  • A revenue operations analyst at a SaaS company

Keep quarterly business review decks current with live numbers

Team links charts and tables to live data and sends alerts when a customer views the deck, which removes the monthly copy-paste from spreadsheets and shows which accounts actually opened it.

  • A freelance consultant

Turn a client brief into a tidy deck once or twice a month

Pro at $14.50 a month billed yearly is fair value; paying $45 month to month for an occasional deck is not, and the trial charges the card on day 14 unless cancelled.

Before you commit

Ten people on Team cost $4,800 a year at the FAQ's per-user rate; the plan card's three-users-included wording would make it less, so confirm before budgeting.
