What is Explee?
Explee is a London company whose Outreach Agent does cold email for you. You give it your website; it studies what you sell and your competitors, scores the kinds of companies likely to buy, picks decision-makers from its database, writes each a personal email, follows up, and sends your booking link when someone asks for a call.
The leads come from Explee's own database of 105M+ companies and 80M+ decision-makers, which it also sells as bulk files by country or worldwide. Emails go out from Explee's pre-warmed mailboxes rather than your company domain, in the lead's language where supported or one of 30 you choose. You can upload your own list as a CSV.
There is no subscription: you pay $0.04 per email sent, within a daily budget you set. The product was previously called AutoGTM.
Is Explee worth it?
Setting up cold email properly is a chore before you send a single message: buy a spare domain, configure it, warm it up for weeks, find a list, then write something people answer. Most small companies give up somewhere around step three.
Explee skips all of that. You paste your website, and its agent works out who might buy, finds named people at those companies and writes to them. Each email costs $0.04, so the $30 of free credits covers about 750 messages. Explee's own estimate for that batch is 2 to 6 warm leads and about one meeting.
The company says the median cost of a hot lead is $9, where a hot lead is any reply that moves a deal forward, such as "send me pricing". Its homepage claims 184,233 hot leads for 16,146 companies. These are Explee's figures, not an independent study, and the customer examples it shows range from $1.71 to $6.67 a lead.
The catch: the emails go out from Explee's mailboxes, not yours. That protects your domain's reputation, but replies land with an unfamiliar sender name and the prospect has never heard of that address. You also hand over the voice of your first contact to an agent, and data-protection duties for cold email to people in the UK and EU still sit with you; Explee publishes a compliance FAQ but no certification on its pages.
Our take: think of Explee as a $30 experiment rather than a sales team. If a week of free credits produces no replies from the right people, the problem is probably your offer, and no outbound tool will fix that. If it works, you will know within days, and the per-email price stays the same as you grow.
Where it earns its place
A solo founder of a B2B software product
Get the first ten sales conversations without hiring an SDR
Paste the website, let the agent pick segments, and spend the $30 of free credits on about 750 emails; Explee estimates about one meeting from that batch. Pause the segments that cost more per lead.
A wholesale supplier with a sales team of two
Find out which customer types answer cold email
Run several segments at once and compare cost per lead; Explee's own example pauses segments around $6 a lead and scales those under $2. The daily budget keeps spend predictable.
A growth analyst at a lead-generation agency
Buy a list of all companies in a country, enriched to custom criteria
Order a database file instead of the agent; semantic search and AI enrichment are free, deep research starts at $5 per 1k companies and emails at $10 per 1k.
