What is Tideris (潮汐之眼)?
Tideris, also called Eye of the Tide, draws a BaZi (Four Pillars) chart from your birth date, time and place, then has an AI language model explain it in plain English or Chinese. It also casts Liu Yao (I Ching hexagram) and Qi Men Dun Jia readings for a specific question, compares two people's charts for compatibility, and publishes free daily fortune, zodiac and five-elements outfit tips. The chart itself is worked out by fixed calendar rules, with true solar time correction for your birthplace; everything written about it comes from the AI.
The same service runs in Chinese as 潮汐之眼 at tideris.cn, with the same tools and the same footer. The .cn site displays a Beijing ICP filing, 京ICP备2026020182号-1, and a public security filing, 京公网安备11010502060414号. Neither site names the company behind it, and the terms are governed by the law of the People's Republic of China.
Every page carries the same disclaimer: AI-assisted content based on Eastern traditional culture, for entertainment and cultural research only. The basic chart and daily guidance are free; a membership and one-off paid readings cover the rest.

Is Tideris (潮汐之眼) worth it?
If you grew up hearing relatives talk about your Four Pillars, or you have just discovered BaZi online, the first hurdle is the chart itself: working out the stems and branches from a birth date, time and place by hand takes a reference book and an afternoon.
Tideris does that part for free and does it carefully. It corrects your birth time to true solar time for the place you were born, and if you leave the hour blank it says so rather than guessing quietly. Its own guide splits every reading into two layers: the chart, which anyone using the same system gets identically, and the interpretation, which the guide admits "may express differently" between fortune-tellers or AI systems. That is a more candid explanation than most rivals give.
The paid layer is the interpretation. The Detailed BaZi Reading costs $39.90 once, which the Chinese site describes as about 3,000 characters plus 3 follow-up answers. Each Focus Report on wealth, career, relationships or health is another $29.90 and needs the BaZi Reading first, so the full set comes to $189.40, or $139.90 as a bundle. Liu Yao, Qi Men and compatibility readings are $39.90 each. The $19.90 monthly membership covers daily and weekly guidance, not any of those readings.
The catch: this is cultural divination, and Tideris says as much. Its accuracy page publishes no figures and rules out "absolute event guarantees"; the terms say it is for entertainment and cultural research and is not legal, medical, financial or mental-health advice. You hand over your name, birth time and birthplace, which the privacy policy says are sent to an AI model it does not name, with no retention period. Neither site names the company running it, the contact address is a personal Gmail account, and refunds are limited to failures such as a charge with no reading or an outage longer than 72 hours, claimed within 7 days. The free chart could be reproduced by pasting the same pillars into ChatGPT or DeepSeek; what Tideris adds is a calendar engine that gets the pillars right first.
Our take: treat Tideris like a well-produced horoscope column that happens to know your birth hour. The free chart and daily notes are a pleasant, honest way into a tradition; spending $139.90 on reports makes sense only if you value the writing for its own sake, and never as a basis for a job, money or health decision.
Where it earns its place
A second-generation Chinese Canadian student
Understand the BaZi chart my grandmother keeps mentioning, in English
Enter the birth date, time and city for a free chart with true solar time correction and a short personality overview. The free tier is enough to follow the conversation; the $39.90 Detailed BaZi Reading is optional.
A writer researching Chinese folk practice for a novel
See how a Liu Yao or Qi Men reading is laid out and phrased
Read the free guides on how fixed results differ from interpretation, then buy one standalone reading at $39.90 to see the full structure. The terms describe the output as entertainment and cultural research, which suits background reading.
A couple in their thirties planning a wedding date with family
Bring a compatibility reading to a family conversation that expects one
The Compatibility Reading costs $39.90 once and compares both charts. It is a talking point, not a verdict: the accuracy page rules out treating results as the sole basis for real decisions.
