What it is
Higgsfield is an AI creative suite for image and video. Its official MCP server, hosted at https://mcp.higgsfield.ai/mcp, gives agents the same model catalogue as the website, with Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, Nano Banana, GPT Image 2 and Higgsfield's own Soul models among those listed.
According to the help centre, the connector covers image and video generation, upscaling, background removal, outpaint and reframe, Kling 3.0 Motion Control, Soul characters, audio (voiceover, voice cloning, voice change and dubbing) and a clipper that turns YouTube videos into short clips, plus checking your balance and past generations. Claude and other MCP clients add the URL as a custom connector and sign in with OAuth; ChatGPT uses a Higgsfield plugin without audio, Cursor installs it from its marketplace, and Claude Code installs the Higgsfield CLI (npm i -g @higgsfield/cli) instead.
The server is closed source and run by Higgsfield. It is separate from the Higgsfield API, which uses API keys and per-request billing.

The appeal is breadth. One connector reaches the same catalogue as higgsfield.ai, from Kling and Seedance video to Nano Banana and GPT Image stills, plus upscaling, background removal and voice tools, and sign-in is a browser login rather than key management. For someone who already pays for Higgsfield, asking Claude to draft a storyboard and render the shots in one conversation saves a lot of tab-switching.
The billing is the catch, and Higgsfield is unusually frank about it. Everything generated through MCP, the CLI or other automated tools deducts credits at standard rates, even on models your plan marks as Unlimited; Unlimited access and free generations apply only on the website. There is no native spending cap for individual plans. The help centre's own advice is to tell the agent to quote the credit cost and wait for confirmation, which is a prompt, not a control. Admin spend controls exist only on the Scale business plan.
Auto-Refill makes this sharper. If it is on, Higgsfield charges your card $20 to $300 at a time, at $1 per 18 credits, whenever the balance drops below your plan's threshold, so an agent stuck re-rolling a video can buy credits as well as spend them. Failed generations are refunded automatically, but re-rolls and batch outputs are charged separately.
The practical details are thin. Higgsfield publishes no tool names, the pricing page shows plans only after sign-in, and per-generation costs appear on the website's Generate button rather than in any public table. The agent cannot read images attached to the chat; references go through a separate upload window. Higgsfield's Developer Terms make you responsible for whatever an agent generates through your account.
