Our rating

3.5/5

HausDraft is a pleasant way to see your own living room in Japandi before you buy a sofa, and its free cost calculator is more useful than the pictures.

What is HausDraft?

HausDraft takes one photo of a room and redraws the furniture, decor and finishes in a style you pick, keeping the walls, windows, doors and camera angle. The style menu lists 22 named looks plus an Auto option, and you can add up to 3 materials or match an inspiration photo. The images come from other companies' models: GPT Image 2 by default, GPT Image 2.5, or Google's Nano Banana Pro, all at 2K, in about 1 to 2 minutes.

Around that sit a 2D floor-plan editor with 171 whole-home templates, a mood board, and a remodel cost calculator that adjusts labour by your ZIP code. Signing in gives 2 free credits, enough for one redesign; paid plans run from $9.99 to $69 a month.

The company behind HausDraft is not named in its terms or privacy policy, and the directory There's An AI For That first logged it on 21 October 2026.

Is HausDraft worth it?

Choosing a new look for a room usually means squinting at someone else's photos on Pinterest and trying to imagine them in your space, with your awkward window and your radiator.

HausDraft redraws your actual room. Upload a photo, choose one of 22 named styles, and it restyles the furniture and finishes while keeping the walls, windows and viewpoint. Each image costs 2 credits on GPT Image 2 or 4 on Nano Banana Pro, so the 2 free credits you get on signing in buy exactly one redesign, downloaded at no more than 1024 px with a badge.

The remodel cost calculator is the best part, and it is free without an account for 5 estimates a day, 20 with one. It prices each line from 32 public sources, including Remodeling magazine's Cost vs. Value report and HomeAdvisor, gives a range of plus or minus 10%, and shows its sources. A mid-range 150 sq ft kitchen in Chicago comes out at $42,400. Note what the ZIP code does: it adjusts labour to your state's construction wages from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, while materials stay at national prices, so a city on the expensive edge of its state will be underestimated. HausDraft itself calls the result a planning estimate, not a quote.

The catch: the redesigns are other companies' image models with a room-shaped prompt around them. GPT Image 2 is OpenAI's and Nano Banana Pro is Google's, and you can upload the same photo to ChatGPT or Gemini and ask for the same thing. The floor-plan tool draws 2D plans by hand or picks the 3 closest plans from its library; it does not turn a photo into a plan. No company is named in the terms, which set no governing law, make payments non-refundable, and cap liability at what you paid in the previous 12 months. Commercial use, such as estate agent listings, needs Starter at $29 a month or Pro.

Our take: HausDraft is a mood board that can draw, sitting next to a genuinely handy estimator. For a weekend of deciding between oak and walnut, Lite at $9.99 for about 15 images is fair; for steady client work, the same models in ChatGPT, Gemini or Krea cost less per picture and come with a named company behind them.

Where it earns its place

  • A couple in a two-bedroom rental in Austin

Pick between two styles for the living room before buying furniture

Lite at $9.99 for a month gives 30 credits, about 15 GPT Image 2 redesigns. The renter-friendly mode limits changes to things a tenant can do, and a share link goes to the other person.

  • A homeowner planning a kitchen remodel in Chicago

Know roughly what a mid-range kitchen will cost before calling contractors

The free calculator gives $42,400 for a 150 sq ft mid-range kitchen, with materials, labour, permits and a 20% contingency split out. It recommends at least three contractor quotes and excludes hidden damage and structural work.

  • An estate agent listing a dated flat

Show buyers how an empty or tired room could look

Starter at $29 a month covers about 116 images with commercial use and your logo on each design. The terms put you in charge of following listing rules on altered photos.

Cost at scale
A stager producing about 276 images a month pays $69 on Pro, roughly 25 cents an image at the GPT Image 2 rate; Nano Banana Pro at 4 credits halves that count. Credits do not roll over and there is no yearly plan listed.

Free downloads stop at 1024 px; credits expire when a plan ends; free accounts get one cost-estimate CSV a month; floor plans are 2D only and are not generated from photos.
