Our rating

3.1/5

MyEnhancer will tidy up two old photos a day for free, but it is a reseller of other companies' models with no named owner, so keep family archives and children's faces off it.

What is MyEnhancer?

MyEnhancer is a website with five tools for fixing photos: an enhancer for sharpness, noise, lighting and colour; an upscaler that enlarges 2x, 4x or to a set size; an unblur tool for mild blur; old-photo restoration for scratches, dust and wear; and a colouriser for black-and-white pictures. You upload one image, compare the result with a before-and-after slider, and download it as PNG, JPG or WebP. It accepts most common formats, including HEIC and TIFF, up to 32 MiB or 100 MP.

The free plan gives 8 credits a day, reset at 00:00 UTC, for Standard-quality single images; a Standard enhance costs 4 credits, so that is two photos a day. Pro quality and batches of 2 to 20 images need paid credits, from $9.99 a month.

According to its privacy policy, the processing is done by Kie.ai, Fal, Replicate and the services they work with. The site does not name the company that runs it.

Is MyEnhancer worth it?

Most families have a shoebox of faded prints, or a phone full of dim, noisy pictures from a birthday party, and the free editing apps either do too little or want a subscription before the first export.

MyEnhancer puts five fixes on one page. A Standard enhance, 2x upscale or colourisation costs 4 credits, restoration 3 and unblur 2, and the free 8 daily credits cover two enhances. Standard enhancement is capped at about 2 MP, roughly a 2560 by 1440 image; Pro raises enhancement to 24 MP for 6 credits an image according to the homepage. Paid plans are $9.99 a month for 250 credits, $24.99 for 1,000 and $49.99 for 2,200, and subscription credits do not expire even after you cancel, which is more generous than most rivals.

The catch: MyEnhancer does not run its own models. Its privacy policy says photos go to Kie.ai, Fal, Replicate and the services they work with, that the list may change, and that their retention periods, training use and processing regions "have not yet been verified". It says it cannot promise those services never train on your images, and it suggests contacting support before uploading photos of children or ID documents. The terms, updated 23 October 2026, name no company and no governing law, and say nothing about who owns the results or whether you can use them commercially. There is no independent coverage yet. Restoration is also guesswork by design; the terms warn that AI may invent or change details.

Our take: MyEnhancer is a convenient front counter for models you could reach elsewhere, and its candour about not knowing where your photos end up is the most useful thing on the site. Magnific's upscaler and Adobe Firefly cost more but state their training policies; for a single grainy snapshot of a pet, a free day's credits on MyEnhancer is harmless.

Where it earns its place

  • A retired teacher scanning a box of 1970s holiday prints

Remove dust and scratches and add colour to a few favourites

Restoration costs 3 credits and colourisation 4, so the free 8 daily credits cover about one print a day. For a box of 200, Pro at $24.99 for 1,000 credits covers about 140 a month, provided the family is comfortable with the third-party processing.

  • An Etsy seller photographing handmade jewellery on a phone

Sharpen and brighten product photos before listing

Starter at $9.99 a month gives 250 credits, about 62 Standard enhances, with batches of up to 20 images. The terms do not address commercial use of results, so check with support first.

  • A small newsletter editor with low-resolution contributor photos

Enlarge pictures enough to fill a header

The 2x upscale costs 4 credits on Standard and reaches up to 8K within 24 MP. Faces and text should be checked against the original, as the site itself advises.
